International conference organizer Noppen, in partnership with the East Africa Healthcare Federation (EAHF), will be hosting the third Annual Hospital Expansion Summit from the 23rd-24th of September 2015 at the Radisson Blu, Mozambique. The event falls in line with Mozambique’s government strategy to expand both the public and private healthcare sectors.
The two day summit is expected to bring together healthcare professionals from across the continent, including hospital managers and owners, government representatives, construction consultants and architects, as well as medical companies, equipment providers and service groups.
The summit will cover a range of key issues and healthcare topics, including planning and designing a new hospital; telemedicine and eHealth; quality in healthcare; healthcare financing; and training and HR.
Key note speakers include Founding Member and Chair of the East Africa Health Platform (EAHP), Dr Amit N Thakker, senior GM Corporate Development and Business Head Africa at Apollo Hospital Group, Dr Harinder Singh Sidhu, and AMREF Flying Doctors CEO, Dr Bettina Vadera, among others.
“Healthcare demands in Africa are rapidly changing and the challenges faced are at a turning point. The reforms and partnerships that governments undertake over the next decade will be crucial in improving overall health on the continent,” said Dr Thakker.
“Substantial investment will be needed to meet the growing demand – largely from low and middle income households, which comprise 70% of Africa’s purchasing power,” concluded Dr Thakker.
