Now in its 19th year, the annual BHF Conference will take place from 17th – 20th June 2018 at Sun City.
According to the BHF, as healthcare systems around the world move towards achieving Universal Healthcare, much research has been performed on what needs to be done relating to policy evidence; however, efforts to move beyond the technical policy evidence towards action plans seem an impossible reality for many.
“We want healthcare experts and professionals, researchers, policy makers, academia to submit abstracts and case studies to contribute towards the delivery of a diverse conversation on healthcare matters at the upcoming 19th Annual BHF Conference,” said Head of Stakeholder Relations at the BHF’s, Zola Mtshiya.
The abstracts should briefly describe the project/ study design and results (not more than two pages); must be the original work of the author and must be submitted by the presenting author in a PDF format; and must be supported by results/outcomes of the study/project.
The abstracts will be reviewed by the BHF programme committee who reserve the right to accept or decline submissions to be presented. Successful presenters will be notified before 4th May 2018.
“Abstracts and case studies will be used to inform a broader healthcare discussion with a focus on this year’s conference theme Putting the health citizen first – Pushing the boundaries of the impossible; and will help establish concerns, solutions and action plans for a way forward with universal healthcare in Southern African and in turn inform action plans for South Africa’s National Health Insurance (NHI).
“Our aim is to begin to identify, influence and implement action plans as preparations for the implementation of universal health coverage are underway,” said Mtshiya.
According to Mtshiya, such contributions will also go a long way towards influencing government and policy makers on what is in the minds of healthcare experts and professionals.
Interested participants should submit the abstracts to firstname.lastname@example.org before the 25th of April 2018.
